CALL TO ACTION

THE AMENDMENTS MADE TO S2996 AND A4052
PASSED YESTERDAY. WHILE SOME THINK THIS IS A WIN

THIS WILL DESTROY THE FUTURE OF NURSE PRACTITIONERS IN NJ

NOW I REALLY NEED YOU TO MAKE SOME NOISE

The current bills that are on the Governor's desk:

  • - These amendments allow only Primary Care and Mental Health APNs to have full practice authority and specifically exclude other specialties such as Med Spas, Obsteterics and Anesthesia.

  • - The original 2400 hour collaborating period was increased to 5,000 hours. Good luck having NPs work in NJ. Don't believe me- Rutgers University even agreesR-U Rah Rah!

  • - There are no provisions or "grandfathering" in for APNs who practiced safely under EO 103.

FLOOD THE PHONES!!!

1. What is your back-up plan to expanding access to health care when NJ APNs leave the state or refuse to practice here due to the required 5,000 hours of mandatory supervision?

2. If the state is mandating 5,000 hours of collaboration, what financial support is the government prepared to provide to cover the cost of that requirement

3. How does New Jersey plan to justify the loss of tax revenue—and the rise in unemployment—when small, independent practices are forced to close?

4. How do you plan to address the public scrutiny, media attention, and potential legal challenges that will follow policies perceived as discriminatory toward women-owned businesses and non–primary care Nurse Practitioners?

5. Why are restrictive requirements being applied only to Nurse Practitioners, while physicians and dentists are permitted to perform aesthetic services autonomously—despite not being formally trained in injectables during medical school?

6. If this bill is finalized, how is the state prepared to handle the class action lawsuit that the aesthetics industry and its providers plan to file?
